Below are some of the projects I have worked on throughout my time as a student.
Personal Branding Presentation
In this presentation I was able to reflect more on my purpose and values behind work. I set out to create a presentation that would show who I am as a young professional. Some of the elements presented include my tagline, self SWOT, and core values. Throughout this process I was able to better understand myself, which has brought me to see where I have strengths and also where I have weaknesses. Reflecting on what motivates me in my work has brought me to have renewed motivation. Creating my SWOT analysis helped me to identify my areas of growth that I will continue to work on. Overall I think that this project was critical for me in establishing my identlty as a professional. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing it all together into a personal brand that displays what makes me unique!
Levi's Strategic Management Presentations
These are four presentations that I was able to work on with five other students in my Strategic Management class. We analyzed the company Levi's all semester in a variety of presentations to finally come up with strategic recommendations for the company that we presented in front of the class and three panelists with many years of experience in the business world. After our presentation we answered their questions about our ideas. Through this experience I was able to sharpen my presentation skills as I spoke with an energetic tone, hand motions, and a professional posture. I also improved my teamwork skills through collaborating with these five other students. Overall I learned to think strategicaly about the future in my business decisions.
Employer Project
In this project I was able to work with the company United Yearbook to help them increwase sales through the use of AI. I worked with a team of two other students, and we reported to the founer of United Yearbook and one other employee. Our main task was to research different types of AI to find the best option to implement into their sales routine that would boost revenue. We met weekly with United Yearbook and were able to share our research and adapt to any new requests. We were able to recommend an AI platform that was then implemented by the company. Through this process I worked on team and professional communication skills. I also greatly developed my knowledge of AI. I am very greatful to have this experience of working with a real world employer.
Painted Skies Marketing Plan
This is a project I was able to complete in my introduction to marketing class in a group with two other students. We worked together to come up with an idea for a new business, create a marketing plan, and present our work to the class. We conducted research on the fashioin industry through a SWOT and PESTLE analysis, which helped me to grow in knowledge of inside and outside factors that affect a business. As this was also one of my first group projects in college, I developed professional communication skills. I learned to work with different ideas and bring a finished product together dispite the time constraint. This also helped me consider what goes into starting a business and apply marketing concepts in a more lifelike way. One thing that I was able to learn from the presentation experience was that keeping the audience engaged is key. In future presentations I want to thoughtfully think through elements where I can intrest the crowd and get them excited about my topic. Overall, this experience helped me to grow simultaneously in my marketing, teamwork, and presentation skills.
Spotify SWOT Analysis
This is a presentation I put together in my management class with three other students. We performed a SWOT analysis on Spotify and created three recommendations for the company based on our research. Through this process I learned valuable skills about research, teamwork, and presenting. I dove deep into data on Spotify while distingushing credible sources from uncredible sources. I worked with a team of three people who were very different from me, and I learned how to support them in their weaknesses and be encouraging. I developed my presentation skills as I stepped out in confidence to be more charasmatic and even make a joke at the appropriate time to engage the audience. Overall, this experience challenged me in these areas, but I grew from it. I now take these skills into my next presentations and into my work experiences.
Presidential Election Visualizations
I created these visualizations in my business analytics class using Excel and Tableau. I took data from the 2004 presidential election, cleaned it up using Excel, and then exported it to Tableau. I then created four visualizations that clearly displayed the data including a map, tree map, column chart, and bubble chart. This project was beneficial to me as it was a test for the Excel and Tableau skills I had been developing all semester. Here I was able to demonstrate my proficency in both platforms. These platforms are essential to daily business operations and the analysis of data, and this class helped me to develop critical skills on these platforms.
